Well, without making any excuses for my lack of updating the site for the past month and a half, here you go. I'm telling you, between VeloNews, Singletrack.com, Facebook, and Twitter, I just don't have much leftover for my own website. Wait, was that an excuse? Anyway, I just finished up a quick recap of my 100 mile adventure last weekend in Colorado. Instead of re-hashing it all over again - check it out at singletrack.com. http://bit.ly/cr3Dp2 . There are also a bunch of cool photos at: http://www.prerace.com/photos/category/50 Also - stay tuned for an update to this site following the new developments on the Subaru/Gary Fisher, now Subaru/Trek team. Heather and I will be checking in from next weekend's ProXCT race in Wisconsin, where we'll be debuting the all-new look of the...

Well, the season is now underway in full swing. I’m definitely back in the routine of packing, traveling, racing, packing and traveling again. I just got back from a quick trip to Guatemala - and have the bug bites to prove it - and am already getting packed up for my next round of trips to California for Sea Otter and then Europe for the beginning of the World Cup season. I thought I’d try and squeeze in a short update here while I enjoy two of my last days at home for a while. Enjoy might be a strong word, as I’m typing this over the pounding of hammers and the pop, pop, pop of nail guns as a new roof goes on my house as we speak. Like I don’t have enough going on right now…...

Well, the off season is officially over and the 2010 racing season is underway. I’m actually really excited about this – as my winter has been so full of activity the idea of simply traveling and racing sounds just great. I won’t recap it all – as Heather did a great job in her latest post, but my February was a bit of a blur as well. Between training hard, continuing to manage and build a growing business, a hut trip, two big photo shoots, and finally a flight to Hawaii I had my hands full. I finished up an incredibly successful 10-day trade show for Studio Shed in need of an escape on my bike – which is exactly what I got upon my arrival on Maui. Now that's what I'm talking about! Hawaii has become Heather’s and my preferred winter training locale,...

Following my last blog post about skiing and cross training in the Colorado winter, I’ve changed climates and am now enjoying the sunshine and great riding in southern California. My current trip to California may go down as one of my more poorly-timed excursions though. Heather and I planned this trip to get some good riding in while the snow was still thick on the ground in Colorado. However, since we’ve left it’s been sunny and warm in Boulder - and a storm of “biblical proportions” is about to slam into the west coast here in Santa Barbara. That said, we’ve at least managed a week of great training and other activities. We kicked off the trip with a visit to Oakley – one of our terrific sponsors, and one which we're working more...

It seems like I should be used to it by now, but yet another year has flown by in what seems like record time. I can’t believe it’s already 2010. Heather and I capped off 2009 with an awesome backcountry ski up at Berthoud pass just outside of Winter Park – one of our favorite places in Colorado. I spent most of December doing some fun mountain biking when the weather was good, and hiking and skiing when it wasn’t. With my MTB season extending into late November in 2009, I had a pretty short window to take a break from the bike. Finishing up a fantastic 2009 on a high note - literally. That’s fine with me though – as I’m already having a blast training for 2010. January in Colorado is an interesting time to be a professional cyclist. Some years...
